Aysenur obtained her PhD at the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex, UK. The aim of her research was to investigate the learning and adaptation concepts/techniques for intelligent embedded agents within intelligent environments. Her research interests include computing with words, type-2 fuzzy logic theory and applications, fuzzy logic as a methodology in neuroscience, psycholinguistics, psychology and related research fields, computational intelligence, intelligent embedded agents, and ambient intelligence.
Aysenur’s research employs an inter-disciplinary approach to realize in particular the ‘Computing With Words’ paradigm using general type-2 fuzzy logic and to put it into practice within the context of intelligent environments. Her research was supervised by Prof. Hani Hagras and is part of the ScaleUp project, a collaboration between the University of Essex, UK and King Abdul-Aziz University, KSA.
Aysenur received the B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey and the MBA degree from University of Wales. She has working experience as a Consultant in Atos Origin, Turkey, and as a Senior Research Officer in EU FP7 funded project ATRACO with the University of Essex before starting her PhD research.
