Xristos research interests are in pervasive computing and pattern recognition. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Embedded Systems and Robotics from the University of Essex. His research explores ways of modelling user context in a pervasive environment with emphasis on user preferences. In particular, he is very interested in the role of emotions and how they affect human behavior. By using Affective Computing principles and techniques he aims to explore and use the correlation between emotional states and preferences in order to improve pervasive applications. His research was funded by EPSRC and BT.
